Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day

Thanks to our friends over at May Dreams Gardens, today is Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day. GBBD is a chance for garden bloggers across the globe to dedicate an entry to what's blooming in their gardens. As I mentioned over at May Dreams Gardens, Xylem & Phloem is awash in the jewel-toned colors of summer. From pavonia to pentas, hibiscus to hirta (Rudbeckia hirta, that is), blooms are definitely us! Check out the slideshow below for peek at what's blooming today at X&P. A complete list of the plant names - in order of appearance - is available by clicking the link at the bottom of this entry.

There is certainly something for everyone to like in your gardens in June, especially those tomatoes. I won't have tomatoes until probably late July this year.

Thanks for participating in Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day! I hope you will join us again in July.

You will love participating in Garden Bloggers Bloom Day ... it is such a wonderful way to visit gardens around the world in many different gardening zones. Your slide show is really nice. Hope you have time to stop by and visit My Canadian Garden.

Lovely slideshow, there is a lot in flower in your garden! You've got tomatoes already, lucky you!!! Isn't it fun to see gardens from all over the world and see what's in bloom there?

There's blooms at Bliss too, if you're interested.

What great blooms! I am jealous of your hibiscus - mine is about knee high yet, I won't see blooms for another month at least.

Great salvia, too.

What a beautiful slide show. I am very jealous of your hibiscus too. I love them, but I have had no luck wintering them over here, except for the wild one I collected on the river bank two years ago. Thanks for sharing!

Oh that hibiscus! It really is one of the best plants that our crazy climate allows us to grow. Of course, I am equally jealous of anyone that lives in a climate temperate enough to allow hostas and peonies to thrive! I recently visited Minnesota on business and there were masses of peonies in every front yard that I passed. I was practically salivating!
